The knitted silk or ‘silk knit’ tie is an incredibly versatile item in any tie collection. With its unique texture and drape, it is immediately more relaxed than a standard tie while retaining a sophisticated edge. In a dark colour such as navy, or especially black, it becomes a classic addition to an evening suit. Some feel that the silk knit is a mere trend, however those with true taste know that it is a classic tie style that is always featured in a dapper man’s wardrobe.Since 2014, Double Monk has been working closely with an artisanal tie maker in Como, Italy to produce a small collection of fine neckties. Every detail is carefully selected: material, colour, pattern, construction, length and width. We have aimed to produce a selection of ties that is attractive and versatile, they are wonderful work ties, but are also well suited to special occasions.
